Well those 11 months of being engaged are almost over and I am soon to be Mrs. Newsom. David and I joke that we have spent as much time planning the trip as we have planning the wedding. But it will all be over soon. I will say goodbye to my highlighters, notepads and stickers to ear mark anything that may be important later on. Let’s not kid ourselves, I am a planner and hate surprises. I will try to control every detail, get frustrated, throw my hands up saying “I don’t care anymore,” come back to Earth and then everything turns out like rainbows and bubbles. It’s a terrible cycle, but it always works….. That’s how I know this is going to be a great wedding day and a great trip. I have over-planned everything so that when it is time, I can sit back and let the details work themselves out. We have a trip binder (if I’m being honest we have two) full of sights, maps, accommodations, and places I want to go. If the cycle follows through, I’ll lose this binder the first week of our trip. But it won’t matter, because I will be with an adventurous man who looks out for me, wants to spend forever with me, and that will be great enough. This will turn into “our trip, our story” and not a reproduction of all the guide books I’ve read.
