It has been 4 years since Morgan and I left to go on our honeymoon overseas. It is hard to believe that this blog has not been updated since our return home. Much has changed during that time, and we could update an entire blog to track that journey. To put everything into a nutshell, we have moved from Memphis to Chattanooga back to Memphis again. We have made our home in Eads TN on 2 acres, and we are the proud parents of 3 beautiful chickens and a dog….. no babies yet. I run a tree care company and Morgan runs her photography business. I will have to say that there is not a day goes by that we do not think about our time traveling or the next adventure that awaits. From Facebook to Instagram, the posts and people that we follow, they provide temptations to travel far away places.
Our trip this year is to India. We have made it a promise to ourselves that we will travel to a new country every year for at least two weeks. The first response of everyone after we tell them we are going to India is ” Ohhh that sounds like fun.” It is very halfhearted, and we can hear them say in the back of their mind: “Why on earth would anyone want to go to India.” Maybe thoughts of packed trains, eating with your hands, and cows roaming the streets deters them; I cannot say with affirmation.
India has been on my (David’s) bucket list for quite some time, and our whole mentality is that we want to travel difficult places while we are young. We want to travel to places that are more difficult to access, and require a bit more patience on our part. We will save the villa in France or the chalet in Switzerland for when we are 55 and want to relax. For now, we want the nitty gritty adventures; the bus rides with the locals, and the street food late at night.
Please continue to follow our journey’s overseas, and we hope to add more blog posts in the near future.
