New Years Day 3 years ago- we spent a misty morning walking the columns and alcoves of the Taj Mahal. David and I got up before sunrise, had a chai for breakfast, and were inside the grounds before the crowds and tour buses arrived. It was a very quiet, eerie place, and the fog only made it more intense. When the sun finally rose and burned off the mist the Taj was everything we imagined it would be. ⁠⠀ Merry Christmas from David, me, and the twins!! 🎄❄️ Two years ago David and I visited Israel. We spent days walking the ancient streets of Jerusalem, a week driving through the biblical deserts and past the seas that we were taught about in church. With Christmas coming up this week we are reminded of another time and past ways of living. One of the things I love most about traveling is the people history that we get to learn and experience for ourselves. ⁠⠀ Starting off September with exciting news... We are going to be parents!!! Tiny traveler joining the crew in February. @davidnewsom7 Ancient architecture is amazing to me, and thinking about how many centuries old the columns are is unfathomable. Respect and awe for the culture that built this plaza. I can only dream of how it looked when it was “new.” I love European gardens and how open but intentional they are designed. Symmetry is important to me and makes my perfectionist side happy. This aerial view of the lawn at Chateau Chambord is exactly what I love. . India was one of the most exotic, over stimulating countries we’ve ever visited. It’s true when people say “India is in your face and so busy.” When you walk down the road you’re dodging scooters, gangs of children, sacred cows, and dogs trying to see what they can steal from the market stalls. Get out of the way or be run over in this country! It was incredible. . This door in the old City of Jerusalem was such a surprise when I turned the corner! The details and colors wowed me. It was on a simple market street and none of the shops were open yet. Every other door was wooden, unfinished, and locked with a big chain. I have no idea how old this doorway is, but I’m glad someone decided to make it colorful. .
